Who We Are

Our Vision:  The Council envisions a level playing field for all members of the community to flourish, progress, and enjoy a better quality of life.

Our Mission:  To help Hispanics and others in the community achieve the "American Dream."

Our Values:  The Council is accountable to its members and the community and serves them with a spirit of integrity, compassion, and commitment.

Brief History:  The Latin American Council of South Carolina (LACSC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit grassroots organization, founded in 2002 and dedicated to serving the needs of South Carolina's Hispanic population and anyone else who seeks its help.  While LACSC'S service area is all of South Carolina, its initial work is being done in Beaufort County where its founders live and work.  LACSC brings together private, public, faith-based and nonprofit sectors to join in planning and community building.  We have found that local government, businesses, schools, and health and human services providers are pleased that there is finally an effective organization in our county that can assist in overcoming the significant linguistic and cultural barriers that prevent Latinos from reaching their potential.
