Volunteer Opportunities
Work Done by Latino Volunteers
Every other
Sunday from 9:00 to 12:00 Latino workers who seek work through the Latin
American Council volunteer to do such community service as picking up trash
along the highway in Bluffton and Hilton Head, or painting or other work for
not-for-profit causes.
Please call in advance to schedule
services - (843) 682-4599.
Would you like to volunteer?
The Latin American Council depends heavily on volunteer help. Would you like to volunteer? If you have administrative or organizational skills, your help would be of great value to the Latino Council. If you like the idea of teaching English, you will never find more eager students than the Latino workers at the Latino Council office. We also need people with a great variety of other skills. If the idea of helping appeals to you, please call our office: (843) 682-4599. Thank you!
The Latin American Council has co-sponsored with area
churches wellness clinics, the purpose of which is to help prevent
illness among Latino people. If you have medical expertise, and are
interested in participating in these clinics, please call our office:
(843) 682-4599. Thank you.
There is a great demand
among Latinos in the Hilton Head/Bluffton area, for English language instruction. Currently,
Literacy Volunteers of the Low Country offers
English classes for all levels of learners, beginning to advanced.

It is not necessary for you to know any foreign language in order to teach English! In fact, it's often better if you don't know any of the student's first language. Literacy Volunteers of the Low Country will train you.
